What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations Manager DC/MD/VA Region $65,000 position at Securemedy Incorporated?
Under the general direction of the Director of Operations, this is a field supervisor / manager level security function that will be charged with providing direct oversight of security operations and leadership to multiple, smaller security programs. In the role of Operations Manager, this is a uniformed position that holds the rank of Captain and reports to the Director of Operations. This position will perform three (3) primary functions as follows:
- FIELD SUPPORT: To serve as the Field Supervisor providing support to the Director of Operations on all security operations related matters
- TRAINING: To serve as the Training Instructor / Training Coordinator conducting all training and development of field security personnel.
- QA/QC: To serve as the Quality Assurance / Quality Control Manager conducting field inspections on all sites within the DC/MD/VA area
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Candidate must have verifiable, security-related leadership experience; preferably within a non-exempt workforce in a 7 day a week, multi-shift/multi-site operation.
- Must be able to demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of Performance Work Statement and applicable company policies for sites where services are being provided.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills (writing sample may be required) and willingness to make improvements as required.
- Ability to function independently and work a flexible schedule to include evenings, weekends and holidays as requested or as operational necessity dictates.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite to include MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook also required
- Ability to follow directions and perform multiple tasks under pressure; Tasks must be performed effectively, simultaneously, under strict deadlines and in a courteous and professional manner.
- Must possess reliable transportation to commute to job site, perform field work and ad-hoc regional job-related travel, as deemed necessary.
- Willingness to obtain and maintain certifications, training & education to perform duties and advance within organization; professional networking also recommended
Principal Duties and Accountabilities:
Field Support Functions:
- Serves as Roving Supervisor to select Security Program and sites without a Team Lead on day to day operations and employment related matters on all assigned sites.
- Develops weekly Operating Schedule and coordinates post coverage for call offs, leave of absences, late arrivals, early departures or shift changes; while managing overtime hours to include filling post by personally serving as replacement officer in the absence of an available replacement
- Manages timekeeping functions including clock-in and clock-out for on duty security personnel on daily basis.
- Provides counseling, guidance and problem-solving options to security personnel to include officers and team leads in a professional and respectful manner.
- Coordinate needed support services to effectively manage assigned work sites to meet or exceed financial and operational goals and provide quality customer service.
- Keep records and prepare accurate and timely reports including, but not limited to daily activity logs, shift reports, incident/accident reports, etc.
- Conducts routine and real-time review of Guard Management Systems including Guard Metrics (Guard Activity Tracking), Linx Up (Vehicle Activity Tracking) and relevant CCTV footage from Base Command Center and through portable devices.
- Enforce Standards of Conduct (SOP-001) and Administration of Discipline (SOP-002) and related policies and procedures
Training Functions:
- Provides orientation for newly hired and/or newly assigned security personnel to ensure proper training prior to assignment to temporary, short-term and long-term assignments.
- May be required to travel out of state for both short term and long-term training assignments in support of existing and start-up security programs.
- Maintain training records and prepare accurate and timely reports to include, but are not limited to Training Attendance logs, First Report of Injury, Incident/Accident reports, etc.
- Tracking of employee credential expirations for scheduling of applicable training classes
- Processing of paperwork related to obtaining security credentials including generating credentials from training classes completed
QA/QC FUNCTIONS:
- Conducts Quality Assurance / Quality Control checks of assigned personnel, along with worksites through weekly schedule including rotating locations, days, shifts and times.
- Conducts follow-up on field inspections to include verification of adherence to policies and procedures, issuance of missing or replacement uniforms and/or equipment
- Generates recommendations for disciplinary action to Director of Operations / Director of Human Resources for repeated failures to comply with contractual or company standards.
- Generates recommendations for performance awards to personnel that consistently demonstrate performance beyond the minimum acceptable standards.
- Coordinates pick up and drop off of uniforms and/or equipment for employees or site as operational necessities dictate and with a sense of priority.
Perform ALL other related duties as assigned or required.
COMPENSATION:
- $65,000.00 per annum base salary
