Director of Infrastructure Cabling

SecurenetMD
Lewes, DE Full Time
POSTED ON 12/18/2024
AVAILABLE BEFORE 2/18/2025

Description

We seek a highly motivated and strong leader to head our growing Low Voltage Infrastructure Division. We require someone who can put boots on and work side-by-side with the department, put on a suit, and be a valuable member of the Executive Leadership Team. A self-starter with no BS type of personality who knows how to deal with unexpected construction sites and will navigate and thrive in a challenging environment. If you understand the drive it takes to succeed and want to pave your way, SecureNetMD is the perfect small business you are looking for.

Please have the following foundational capabilities before hitting the apply button:

  • Develop and implement strategies for effectively managing low-voltage / structured cabling infrastructure, audiovisual systems, wireless networks, video surveillance systems, and physical security projects.
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of all projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within scope and budget.
  • Monitor field utilization and capacity. Ensure that lead foremen and technicians are working at full capacity and planning for future growth.
  • Manage      local subcontractor relationships, vendors, and manufacturers
  • Provide leadership and direction to the field operations team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct project kickoff meetings with Sales, the Project Coordinator, and the Lead Technicians to establish the overall project vision, highlight any potential hurdles, and approve the project schedule.
  • Schedule and conduct project walk-throughs with lead technician’s subcontractors, general contractors, and clients as needed.
  • Understand      copper and fiber optic infrastructure, including pathways, riser spaces, IDF/MDFs
  • BICSI certification

What you must do:

  1. Department Management
    1. Flexible and Transparent Planning—As project changes tend to pile up quickly in terms of time and money, it’s vital that our candidate plans adequately for the project and change.
    2. Maintain a Department Budget—This budget must align with the company's master budget and provide essential resources to the department.
    3. Control Gross Margin—This candidate is responsible for ensuring that labor, material, and operational costs are always in check.
  2. Team Management
    1. Possess Emotional Intelligence- The candidate is expected to lead a team of at least 10.
    2. Foresight into Risk Management- A successful candidate understands that risks happen and has a thorough plan to handle anything that goes wrong.
    3. Natural Leadership and Entrepreneurial Qualities- Candidates are expected to plan and initiate processes, monitor work, and quickly rebound if a setback appears.
  3. Communication
    1. Enthusiasm—Our candidate needs to be upbeat, enthusiastic, and motivated to raise the team's spirits and boost confidence.
    2. Effective Communication- Effectively express yourself clearly to the team so everyone can better collaborate.
    3. Can Say No—Sometimes, construction owners want to make massive project changes or adjustments in the schedule as scope creep begins to enter the project. The construction work isn’t always feasible based on specifications. Our candidate should be honest and open when this occurs.
  4. Ability to Close Out the Project
    1. There's nothing worse than having a project that seems to go on forever due to processes always falling short or building finishings being incomplete.  While stepping back from being the micromanager is important, this doesn't mean that construction project managers should sit in the corner and not be aware of how well or poorly the project is progressing. Have the ability to close out projects by consistently following up on key tasks. Also, if there is a shortfall, take the blame and offer solutions to resolve the issue quickly.

Day to Day Activities:

  1. Creating schedules
  2. Balancing budgets
  3. Assigning tasks to team members
  4. Tracking project activities from start to finish
  5. Managing supplies and working with vendors
  6. Report department process to leadership
