- Develop a comprehensive annuity product development strategy, incorporating market trends and customer needs.
- Empower the team to create and maintain competitive products that support customers' financial planning and protection goals while ensuring Securian's risk management and capacity requirements are met.
- Lead pricing initiatives, collaborating with distribution and risk and finance teams to drive sales and earnings growth.
- Establish and leverage internal and external relationships to understand the individual annuity competitive landscape, launch and service products effectively, and compete successfully.
- Lead a team of actuaries to achieve the outcomes of the annuity line.
- Develop and coach talent, setting expectations for results and fostering a culture of collaboration, teamwork, creativity, and empowerment.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external partners, representing Securian externally through active involvement in industry organizations such as ACLI, NAIC, LIMRA, and regulatory bodies.
- Cultivate relationships and collaborate with teams across the organization to partner on product development initiatives.
- Fellowship in the Society of Actuaries (FSA) or Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) preferred.
- Member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
- 10 years of annuity product development experience, including understanding how annuity products are sold and deep knowledge of customer and distribution partner needs preferred.
- 5-10 years of talent development experience.
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills to interact with diverse stakeholders.
- Understanding and collaboration with distribution partners, including BDs, FIs, IMOs, etc. preferred.
