About the Role
The Physical Security Operations team serves as the primary interface with stakeholders, ensuring security requirements and expectations are met through high-quality, industry-standard programs and services. We are seeking an experienced security professional to join our team as a Physical Security Risk Assessment Specialist.
This role will be responsible for evaluating and analyzing security risks across both internal data centers and third-party co-location facilities to ensure compliance with industry regulations and corporate security standards. This individual will work closely with cross-functional teams to assess vulnerabilities, provide strategic recommendations, and contribute to the continuous improvement of physical security operations.
This is an individual contributor (IC) role with no direct reports and will require periodic regional and global travel (up to 25%).
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive physical security risk assessments for data center locations, identifying vulnerabilities and recommending mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulatory frameworks, including SSAE 18, ISO, and PCI, through detailed risk analysis.
- Develop and deliver written reports and oral briefings tailored to key stakeholders, ensuring actionable insights are communicated effectively.
- Collaborate with enterprise-wide security teams to align risk assessments with prioritized assets and business risks.
- Track and analyze key security metrics & KPIs to measure risk trends and operational effectiveness.
- Support the development and execution of strategic security initiatives, contributing to risk assessment methodologies and best practices.
- Provide subject matter expertise on data center security operations and emerging physical security risks.
- Participate in crisis management planning and response efforts related to physical security threats.
- Assist in defining operational security processes and services that meet business needs.
- Perform additional duties as required to achieve assigned business objectives.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial security or a corporate security environment, with at least 2 years focused on physical security in data center operations.
- Strong understanding of industry-specific legislation and compliance requirements related to physical security and data center environments.
- Experience with crisis management as it relates to corporate physical security.
- Working knowledge of security technologies, including access control and CCTV systems.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and strong analytical capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization, including senior leadership.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a diverse, global environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience conducting security risk assessments or audits.
- Industry certifications in security, risk management, or compliance (e.g., PSP, CPP, CISSP) are preferred but not required.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred but not mandatory.
