Position Overview:
Securitas Security Services is seeking dedicated and vigilant Security Officers to join our team at a private boarding school in Concord, MA. The ideal candidate will provide a safe and secure environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors while maintaining a visible and professional presence on campus. This role requires excellent communication skills, keen attention to detail, and a proactive approach to ensuring the safety of this school community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and patrol the campus, including buildings, grounds, and parking areas, to detect any suspicious activity or security breaches.
- Respond promptly to emergencies, including medical incidents, fire alarms, and security breaches.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency personnel when necessary.
- Monitor security cameras, alarm systems, and other surveillance equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Assist in managing access control by checking IDs and screening visitors and vendors at designated entrances.
- Write detailed incident reports and document any unusual occurrences or accidents.
- Conduct security checks on school vehicles, dormitories, classrooms, and event spaces as required.
- Ensure proper security measures are in place during school events, activities, and extracurricular programs.
- Offer general assistance to students, staff, and visitors as needed.
- Promote a culture of safety through proactive communication and education.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required); college degree or relevant certifications in security or criminal justice (preferred).
- Prior experience in security or law enforcement (preferred).
- Strong observational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to remain calm and effective in emergency situations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact with individuals of all ages and backgrounds.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to use security systems and reporting tools.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks.
- Must be physically capable of walking, standing, and patrolling large areas for extended periods of time.
- Must pass background check and drug screening.
Work Schedule:
- Shifts may vary, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to ensure 24/7 security coverage.
- On-call responsibilities may be required during peak times or emergencies.
