Security Alarm Systems of Virginia (“SAS”) is a locally owned and operated full service electronic security company. SAS provides homes and businesses throughout Virginia with burglar alarm / intrusion systems, CCTV camera systems, access control systems, fire alarm systems, structured cabling, audio/video systems, and more. SAS is headquartered in Harrisonburg, VA and operates six satellite offices servicing most of Virginia.
The Opportunity
SAS is seeking experienced low-voltage candidates to install new systems and service existing systems. The candidate will be dependable and capable of inspecting, servicing, and maintaining several types of security alarm, fire alarm, CCTV, access control, A/V, structured cabling, and other similar low voltage systems. Related experience is required. This technician would primarily service the Harrisonburg, VA region but must be able and willing to work in Charlottesville, Northern Virginia, Lynchburg, and Richmond areas occasionally.
The Responsibilities
- Perform installations, inspections, and service on a variety of low voltage projects such as, intrusion/security systems, fire alarm, CCTV, access control, A/V, structured cabling etc.
- Seek additional sales and service opportunities within existing customer locations and advise the customer of compliance needs.
- Develop long term relationships with customers and maintain customer retention through strong communication and regular follow ups.
- Serves as the face of SAS to customers while onsite by providing top-notch service and product training after the physical installation.
- Handles work orders by calling and scheduling installation and service calls, organizing required parts, ensuring those parts are available, performing the required the work, then closing out the work orders.
- Perform project administration such as closing out work orders, creating new work orders, communicating with your supervisor regarding parts orders and project status, communicating with the accounts receivable team to ensure work orders are ready for billing, and more.
The Necessities
- Relevant low voltage / electronic security experience
- Ability to travel throughout the Shenandoah Valley, Charlottesville, and Northern Virginia
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Mechanical ability and basic hand tool knowledge
- Work efficiently with minimal supervision
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)
- Good communication skills to interface with customers
- Ability to call and schedule appointments, follow instructions, and understand project requirements
- Have or ability to obtain required license in related trade
- Ability to lift 75 lbs. , safely use of ladders, work overhead, and work in tight spaces
- Valid driver’s license and proof of minimum liability insurance
- Ability to pass background checks, drug tests, and required screenings

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 36 – 44 per week
