Security Benefit is searching for a talented and enthusiastic student for an internship to join our Human Resources team. SB associates are working a hybrid schedule with both remote and on-site work. This position will work in our home office in Topeka, Kansas.

What Does the Job Look Like?
Data Management and Reporting
Research and benchmark metrics from external sources to support HR initiatives.
Assist in forecasting and preparing various HR reports using collected data and metrics.
Compensation and Recruiting
Gain an understanding of the components involved in market pricing jobs.
Assist in development of job descriptions and job ads.
Understand the administration of 401k plans.
Learn about the setup and overview of job assignments.
Support various recruiting activities, including candidate sourcing and interview coordination.
Employee Relations and Benefits
Engage in the interactive dialogue process for ADA workplace accommodations.
Participate in bi-weekly orientation sessions to understand covered benefits, followed by discussions with team members to learn about the benefits' purposes.
Participate in various HR projects and initiatives.
Who Are You?
Students eligible for an internship must be current full-time students. Students working during the school year will work approximately 10-19 hours a week. SB will offer a flexible schedule to allow students to focus on coursework while gaining real work experience during their internship. Students eligible for the summer internship will also be full-time students and available to work up to 40 hours per week.
Full-time Student in Human Resource Development, Human Resource Management, Business, Psychology, or Sociology.
Undergraduate or Graduate Student.
Strong analytical and research skills.
Good understanding of HR principles and practices.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Good communication skills and able to work with a lot of different teams.
Someone who wants hands on experience.
