Security Benefit is searching for an experienced Senior Human Resource Business Partner to join our team. SB associates are working a hybrid schedule with both remote and on-site work. This position will work in our home office in Topeka, Kansas.

What Does the Job Look Like?
The Senior HR Business Partner (SHRBP) provides strategic level HR support to a designated set of business units, acting as a consultant to both front line and senior business leaders. As a strategic talent leader, this person will own the HR strategy for those groups of business units. The senior-level position entails tackling the most pressing talent opportunities and challenges at a strategic level and successfully partnering with the business unit leader to create value for the business.
Build relationships with business leaders to offer thought leadership on organizational and people-related strategy and execution.
Understand the business strategy and identify opportunities to increase alignment with the strategy by helping business leaders identify, prioritize and build organizational capabilities, behaviors, structures and processes.
Act as the advocate for leading the talent management and development plans for the business unit with a focus on enhancing the quality of leaders and managers, building skills and capabilities of the workforce, and ensuring succession bench strength.
Diagnose gaps between current and desired organization performance and deploy actions to resolve gaps, including organization redesign, process change, coaching and training.
Assist business unit leaders to create development programs for high-potential employees.
Analyze workforce trends to model and forecast future labor requirements to support senior leaders in workforce planning and succession management.
Review key business performance targets and their related talent implications with business leaders.
Review and benchmark the internal and external environment to identify new opportunities for HR and to improve HR policies and initiatives.
Identify and drive the sharing of best practices across functions to facilitate continuous improvement.
Act as a liaison between the business and HR functions to ensure HR services are aligned with internal client needs.
Align performance management and reward strategies to reinforce an environment of dedication and innovation with and across business units.
Coach senior leaders to improve leadership abilities, relationships among teams/individuals and interpersonal communications, as well as deliver effective performance feedback.
Embed Security Benefit values into department and team culture.
Continuously develop HR strategic, partnership, and consultative skills and mentor and develop others on the Security Benefit HRBP Team.
Who Are You?
10 years HR experience in a strategic position partnering with key executives
Bachelor's degree in HR management, business administration, or related field
Proven track record of influencing senior leaders
Ability to identify new ways for HR to support the business strategy and develop clear, actionable steps in support of the overall business strategy
Ability to analyze large quantities of data, recognize trends, tie back to business priorities and develop recommendations based on data analysis
Strong partnership skills and the ability to influence aligned business unit or functional leader
Demonstrated achievements in coaching, influencing and problem solving with various levels of leadership
High degree of business acumen
Effective team player and networker
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HR management systems
