You will play a critical role in assuring the consistent quality of our software products and the effective execution of QA practices, standards, measurement, and metrics across our entire development lifecycle.
Your Impact
- Team Leadership & Development: Develop, direct, train, and manage department personnel, fostering a collaborative and high-performing QA team.
- Test Strategy & Execution: Oversee the design, implementation, execution, and debugging of comprehensive Information Services test cases and scripts. Provide strategic guidance and leadership for test automation efforts.
- User Acceptance Guidance: Provide expert guidance and assistance to development teams and stakeholders in obtaining thorough User Acceptance of software changes that have successfully passed testing.
- Software Readiness & Efficiency: Make informed recommendations and assessments regarding software readiness for release. Proactively identify and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency within the QA process.
- Quality Standards & Metrics: Assist in the development, tracking, and reporting of key QA quality standards and metrics to provide valuable insights into software quality.
- Ticketing System Management: Oversee the maintenance and administration of our ticketing system (JIRA), ensuring research tickets are created and assigned accurately and efficiently.
- Test Environment Management: Oversee the setup, configuration, and maintenance of robust testing environments for all in-house systems.
- Change Management Support: Actively support change management activities to ensure proper adoption and adherence to new processes and software releases.
- Project Collaboration: Work closely and proactively with the Manager, IS Project Management regarding project release schedules, providing timely and accurate updates on QA progress and potential roadblocks.
- Professional Conduct: Maintain prompt and regular attendance and demonstrate a strong work ethic.
- Reliable Connectivity: Must have reliable internet service with DSL or faster speeds to ensure consistent communication and productivity.
- Occasional Travel: Ability to travel to our home office for quarterly meetings and special projects as needed.
- Proven QA Experience: Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in IT quality assurance and/or financial system testing OR 8 years of experience in software development testing with a strong emphasis on testing.
- Leadership Experience: Demonstrated experience in effectively managing people and projects, including delegation, performance management, and team development.
- Technical Proficiency: Experience with Automation testing methodologies and tools. Familiarity with HP ALM and mobile testing is preferred.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to thorough and accurate testing.
- Subject Matter Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of the field's policies, procedures, and best practices in software quality assurance.
- Technical Skills: Strong working knowledge of JIRA, SQL, Visual Studio, and object-oriented programming languages.
- Communication Excellence: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders
