Job Title: Port Floater (Security Officer)

Job Summary:
SMI Security is seeking a reliable and adaptable Port Floater to join our team at Port Everglades. This position requires a highly flexible individual who can perform various security duties as needed throughout the port. The Port Floater will be responsible for covering various security posts, ensuring the safety and security of the port and its assets.
Responsibilities:
- Provide security coverage at various locations within Port Everglades, including but not limited to gate access, vessel security, and patrol duties.
- Monitor and control access to restricted areas.
- Conduct regular patrols of the port premises.
- Respond to and report security incidents and emergencies.
- Verify and inspect credentials, including TWIC cards and driver's licenses.
- Maintain accurate logs and records of security activities.
- Provide excellent customer service to port personnel and visitors.
- Adapt to changing security needs and assignments.
Qualifications:
- Valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card.
- Valid Florida Driver's License.
- Own reliable transportation.
- Flexible availability to work various shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong observation and communication skills.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Compensation:
- $18.00 per hour.
