As a lender in a community-focused bank, you will play an essential role in helping individuals and families navigate the path to homeownership and financial security. From pre-qualification to closing, you will guide them through the lending process with care and integrity, always keeping their best interests at heart.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Engagement and Loan Origination
    • Build meaningful relationships with customers, ensuring they feel supported and informed throughout the lending process.
    • Take loan applications for residential mortgage and consumer loans, prequalifying applicants and thoroughly explaining available programs.
    • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations while maintaining the highest ethical standards in lending.
  • Business Development and Community Involvement
    • Establish and maintain strong referral relationships with local realtors, builders, and community members to generate new business opportunities.
    • Actively participate in community events, educational seminars, and public relations efforts to represent the bank and build trust.
    • Cross-sell bank services by identifying additional financial solutions that benefit customers.
  • Loan Processing and Closing
    • Oversee the loan process from application through closing, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete and accurate.
    • Work closely with internal teams to ensure timely and efficient loan approvals and closings.
    • Provide ongoing communication and support to customers, ensuring a seamless lending experience.
Qualifications And Competencies

  • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
    • Minimum of two years of professional office experience, preferably in banking or lending.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy to ensure compliance and completeness of loan files.
    • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills to effectively interact with customers, colleagues, and community members.
    • Ability to manage multiple requests simultaneously, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
    • Proficiency in navigating multiple computer systems and programs, with working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
    • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work collaboratively across all levels of the organization.
    • Service-oriented approach with professionalism, courtesy, and respect.
    • Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills to assess financial situations and recommend solutions.
    • Ability to take direction, follow through independently, and ensure projects are completed successfully.
