JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for performing operational duties to contribute to the accurate and timely delivery of trust services, reports and client satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Client Account Processing (40%)
- Monitors, verifies, and posts the receipt and distribution of money and securities transactions to client accounts and ensure the accurate and timely recording of activity.
- Reviews and approves distribution transactions, client address changes, and pay to records submitted by the administrative team.
- Maintains dual control function.
Account Reconciliation and Custodian Settlement (25%)
- Reconciles daily cash entries entered on the trust accounting system. Research and resolve out of balance issues.
- Reconciles department DDA accounts and other accounts as required.
- Reviews daily net settlement reports and communication. Processes daily settlement wire to custodian.
Asset Management (20%)
- Deposits and withdraw assets maintained in the vault using the dual control system and conduct semi-annual vault count under dual control process.
- Gathers manual pricing data for month end processing and makes necessary adjustments to trust accounting system.
- Sets up and maintains unique assets in the trust accounting system.
Client Security Trade and Settlement (10%)
- Serves as a backup with the oversight of the settlement of clients’ security trades which includes mutual funds, equity and fixed income to ensure the accurate & timely settlement of securities transactions.
- Serves as a backup with security and cash transaction exception, reconciliation review. Research and resolve any variance issues.
Client Retention (5%)
- Performs client service duties to include answering questions, conducting necessary research and responding to clients in a timely manner.
Performs other duties as required and assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Working knowledge of trust accounting operations, policies and procedures including dual control safeguards.
- Working knowledge of all types of accounts including trusts, agencies, retirement plans and foundations.
- Working knowledge of various types of securities, asset classes, and fiduciary income tax implications.
- Possess strong customer relation skills, self- motivation, strong attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
- Ability to demonstrate a team-oriented mentality.
- Skills in operating a PC and using Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to maintain regular and reliable attendance.
- Ability to complete required compliance training by assigned due date.
EDUCATION*
- Minimum of a High School degree or equivalent required.
EXPERIENCE*
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in Trust Operations or similar role required.
