Description

Are you ready to shape the strategic vision of our HR function, champion a culture of dynamic growth and engagement, and lead the compliance efforts that are pivotal to our organization’s success?

At Security National Bank, if there is one belief we hold together as a team, it’s that everything matters. From the words we say, to the way we dress, to the decisions we make and the actions we take – every single thing we do matters. Why? Because we recognize the inherent value of each individual, and the potential of what each person can become. We realize every one of life’s interactions is an opportunity to help someone reach that potential. This is why we treat even the smallest details of life and banking with careful thought and attention. If you aspire to do the same, we’d like you to advance your career with us at SNB.

In this role, you will serve as the strategic architect of our people strategy—overseeing everything from high-impact talent acquisition initiatives and succession planning to culture-building programs, employee development strategies, and workforce analytics. You’ll drive innovation by maximizing the potential of our existing HR technology, collaborating closely with leadership to future-proof our business, and leading an HR team recognized for its influence on company-wide success. You’ll spearhead strategic HR initiatives to foster an engaging, compliant workplace, ensuring employees remain motivated and the Bank stands out as an employer of choice. Ultimately, this position empowers you to shape a high-performance environment where top talent thrives and where Security National Bank continues to excel.

We’re looking for a dynamic HR leader who can skillfully bridge strategic vision with day-to-day execution. In this leadership capacity, you’ll ensure our people feel supported, valued, and motivated to excel—amplifying the Bank’s core values throughout the organization. By cultivating strong leadership pipelines and steering critical workforce initiatives, you’ll promote a high-trust environment where collaboration thrives, and business goals are achieved. Above all, you will serve as a champion for our culture and reputation, driving efforts that reinforce our position as an employer of choice within our markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with executive leadership to align HR initiatives with broader business objectives, ensuring talent strategies directly support organizational growth.
  • Oversee and mentor the HR team, promoting best practices, professional development, and a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive strategies to attract top talent, while ensuring a robust pipeline of future leaders.
  • Design initiatives that enhance employee satisfaction, recognition, and overall engagement, fostering a high-trust and collaborative work environment.
  • Leverage existing HR systems to generate data-driven insights, streamline processes, and help leaders make informed decisions about the workforce.
  • Regularly review and adjust total rewards offerings to remain competitive, cost-effective, and aligned with market standards.
  • Maintain policies and procedures that adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices, mitigating potential risks and ensuring a fair, ethical workplace.
  • Guide managers in conducting meaningful performance reviews, addressing employee relations issues, and promoting professional growth across all levels.
  • Support and implement organizational initiatives—in a manner that minimizes disruption and maintains high employee morale.
  • Present key HR metrics and insights to senior leadership, using clear, data-driven narratives to inform strategic decisions.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, adept at influencing stakeholders across all levels.
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking aptitude, able to derive insights from HR data to inform strategic decisions.
  • Proven ability to balance strategic vision with hands-on execution, adapting quickly to shifting priorities.
  • Collaborative mindset, capable of building relationships and fostering trust in a cross-functional environment.
  • High degree of integrity and discretion when handling confidential or sensitive information.

Knowledge & Expertise

About Security National Bank

Security National Bank was chartered in 1884 in Sioux City, Iowa; founded on the time-tested principles of integrity, honor, open-mindedness, efficiency, good humor, respect, duty, and human connection. These principles served as guideposts that enabled SNB to withstand the economic panic of the late 1800s, the Great Depression, two World Wars, and the farm crisis — and emerge as the region’s most established and trustworthy locally owned bank. We believe what was worth doing well yesterday is still worth doing well today. People change and banking changes, but our time-tested principles remain. To this day, we believe that doing what’s right is the only way to take care of customers, empower businesses, cultivate growth, inspire our community, and accomplish the remarkable.

Security National Bank is an Equal Opportunity, Affirmative Action Employer. Applicants are considered for all positions without regard to race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, gender identity, and sexual orientation), national origin, age, disability, marital status, or veteran status.
