What You'll Do
A Mortgage Loan Processor organizes the paperwork and documents pertaining to a mortgage loan. They are responsible for preparing disclosures, ordering appraisals, title work and escrow. Processors confirm data as compiled by the loan originator in SNMC’s Loan Operating System.
Essential Functions:
To verify the borrower's information, Mortgage Loan Processors order credit reports, ,verify employment with the employer, review documentation provided by the borrower, title company, appraiser, real estate agent to support the following:
- Employment
- Income
- Assets
- Property appraisal
- Property survey
- Input, organize, and manage data, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Enter information into databases, spreadsheets, or other software systems
- Handle and process various types of documents, such as invoices, forms, applications, contracts, or other paperwork. Ensure documents are properly filed, indexed, and retrieved as needed
- Review loans to determine when the file is complete and ready for underwriting submission
- Identify and address any issues or discrepancies that arise during processing tasks. Collaborate with relevant parties to find appropriate solutions
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and relevant regulations while processing sensitive or confidential information
- Upon loan approval, coordinate the closing and funding of the loan closer, originator, title, escrow, and borrower
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Minimum of 3 years of mortgage loan processing experience required
· Excellent customer service
· Effective communication skills including written and verbal
· Basic knowledge of lenders and investors underwriting and program guidelines
· Ability to prepare state and federally required disclosures
· Ability to manage processing pipeline
· Bilingual fluency (English and Spanish) speaking and written is required.
· Knowledge of basic underwriting guidelines to calculate income, assess adequate asset availability, review appraisal report, read title commitment/preliminary title reports
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, data entry systems, or industry-specific tools
· Excellent organizational and time management skills
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
· Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
· Must be able to occasionally lift and carry up to 15 lbs.
· Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone
Must be able to sit for prolonged periods at a desk, while working on a computer
