Job Summary

The Unarmed Campus Security Officer will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors on campus. The officer will patrol the campus on foot or in a vehicle, monitor security cameras, and respond to any incidents or emergencies that may arise.

Key Responsibilities

• Patrol the campus on foot or in a vehicle to deter criminal activity and ensure the safety of students, faculty, staff, and visitors
• Monitor security cameras and report any suspicious activity or potential security threats
• Respond to incidents or emergencies, such as medical emergencies, fires, or criminal activity, and take appropriate action
• Provide assistance to students, faculty, staff, and visitors as needed
• Complete incident reports and maintain accurate records of all activities and incidents
• Collaborate with local law enforcement agencies as needed
• Attend training sessions and meetings as required
  
  

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Previous security or law enforcement experience preferred
  
  

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders
• Ability to work in all weather conditions
