Low Voltage Apprentice or Technician – Train with the Best in the Industry

Security & Smarthome Pros, LLC – Utah (Jobsite Travel)

$20–$35/hr | Full-Time | Tools/Vehicle Perks Available

Are you interested in a hands-on career in a growing trade? Do you enjoy working with your hands, solving problems, and learning new skills? We’re looking for a motivated Low Voltage Apprentice or Technician to join our team and grow with us.

Whether you’re brand new to the field or have some experience under your belt, we have a place for you. This is an incredible opportunity to train under an experienced lead technician, gain certifications, and build a career in an in-demand industry.

About the Role:

We’ve recently taken on more work with national telecommunications companies, which means the primary focus of this role will be assisting remote network engineers and IT professionals with telecom and data installations and service calls in commercial environments.

You’ll be supporting projects such as:

  • Installing and servicing routers, access points, cradle points, POTS lines, and related networking equipment
  • Running, terminating, and testing Cat5e/Cat6, RJ11 and Coax cabling
  • Performing clean and professional installs in retail, office, and other commercial settings
  • Communicating with remote teams to complete checklists, provide photos, and ensure jobs are closed out properly

If you’re a trainee, we’ll teach you the ropes. If you’re experienced, we’ll put your skills to work right away. Beyond telecom work, you’ll also get exposure to our other specialties, including security alarms, access control, and smart home automation, which will play a secondary role as you grow with the company.

Apprenticeship Track Includes:

  • On-the-job training with our Lead Technician
  • Hands-on learning with tools, wiring, and system setup
  • Support in getting your low voltage license or certifications
  • Exposure to data, telecommunications, security systems, IP cameras, access control, and smart home technologies

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to daily schedule and follow step-by-step procedures
  • Learn to run and terminate cabling for network and IP devices, phone lines, intrusion alarms and access control
  • Troubleshoot systems with guidance from your mentor and remote engineers
  • Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently
  • Read basic blueprints and schematics (we’ll teach you how)
  • Deliver great service to clients with a professional attitude

What We’re Looking For:

  • A dependable, hardworking individual with a willingness to learn
  • Interest in trades, technology, or electronics
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort using tools
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (company van/tools may be provided to the right person)
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous low voltage experience is a plus, but not required

Pay & Perks:

  • $20–$35/hr depending on experience and skill level
  • Paid training and support for licensure
  • Opportunities to grow into lead tech, project manager, or trainer roles
  • Tools and transportation perks available for long-term hires
  • Be part of a tight-knit, growing local company that cares about your success
