Position Summary:
Loan Officers will be responsible for building and maintaining loan portfolios. Loans will meet established guidelines being compliant with bank policy. Process and service loans for existing and prospective bank customers. Perform loan servicing responsibilities and assist with monitoring and reporting loan conditions.
Responsibilities:

- Ability to provide excellent customer service in the Bank, on the phone or via email
- Call on prospective applications
- Accept credit applications
- Evaluate a potential borrower’s loan application, financial capacity, and credit worthiness
- Approve/deny a loan request within lending limit
- Prepare/present loans to Loan Committee if loan amount exceeds set lending limit- “deviates from policy”
- Professionally & effectively, communicate between all departments/branches of the Bank
- Monitor the funding of an approved loan
- Ensure closing of loans with customers
- Maintain responsibility for loan files, manages a portfolio of diverse loans; both consumers and commercial
- Community involvement
- Attend offsite meetings and trainings; complete web based training as scheduled by Training Department
- Coordinate collection efforts and disposition of collateral if needed
- Inspect secured collateral
- Assist branch opening/closing, balancing
- Review documentation for accuracy and collateral
- Other duties as assigned
- Minimum 5 years of commercial and/or consumer lending required
- Ability to perform intermediate financial analysis under limited supervision
- Experience with MS Office
- Formal credit training is preferred
- BBA preferred or business/banking experience
- 6 hours Accounting coursework preferred
- Good oral and written communication skills
