QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. minimum.
- Valid Arizona State Fingerprint Clearance Card required.
- Valid Arizona State Driver’s License.
- Previous experience as security officer required.
- Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities.
- Must be willing to work irregular hours.
REPORTS TO
Security Work Site Leader
JOB GOAL
To assist in a supervisory capacity in the provisions for the security and protection of all students, staff, and property.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

Patrols district buildings and grounds to prevent fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry.

Conducts patrol inspections of doors, windows, and gates to determine that they are secure, and locked when building is vacant throughout District campus.

Investigates unauthorized persons for questioning, routes or detains them, and/or calls police for assistance, according to emergency action plan.

Sounds fire signal to alert fire department and school personnel in event of fire and assists in extinguishing fire.

Reports any unusual condition or malfunctioning of heating, plumbing, or electrical systems.

Patrols school grounds to detect unauthorized persons or vehicles; to check cars for parking authorization; to determine if vehicles are parked in restricted areas, such as near fire hydrants or in driveways; and to check exterior lighting and emergency access routes.

Makes written reports of security violations.

Checks all building doors, including the administrative building, at least twice each night to be sure that they are locked.

Inputs duty logs into the computer and prints documents.

Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Serves a 90-day probationary period when first hired. Upon recommendation, a full-time contract of 260 days will be awarded and work schedule will be established by the immediate supervisor. Non-exempt position at Grade 4.
Salary : $17 - $19
