What are the responsibilities and job description for the E-commerce Security Analyst position at SecurityMetrics?
Shopping Cart Monitor Team
There are a LOT of e-commerce sites out there, and according to PCI’s latest requirements, most of them need to be scanned weekly for malicious code. Shopping Cart Monitor to the Rescue! Our patented technology enables us to scan customer websites and gather the information e-commerce merchants need to stay safe and remain compliant. Sounds simple enough, but with the dizzying and ever-changing array of website designs and technologies, it takes hard work and constant vigilance to stay on top of it.
The Shopping Cart Monitor team provides the tools and services our customers need to stay compliant without having to master complex website technologies themselves. Having said that, our product, tools, and processes are new and developing, so we need people with sharp minds and attention to detail who are ready to learn, and then learn some more.
Individual agent assignments will vary depending on agent capabilities and current workload, but much of the work performed by our Analysts begins with using our patented tools to record and analyze test credit card transactions on customer websites. Much of this activity will feel a lot like online shopping, although there’s definitely more to it. A thriving Analyst in this role will need to be able to stay focused and productive for long stretches of time in tasks such as this.
Analysts with more experience will evaluate Indicators of Compromise (IoCs) that are found in customer website code to ensure that alerts are valid. This requires an understanding of website code and related technologies. For those who live & breathe JavaScript, we have work for you as well!! Please apply!!
Responsibilities May Include:
- Exploring new customer websites to determine the best way to test credit card transactions.
- Using SCM software to test and process customer e-commerce transactions.
- Interacting with customers as needed to address questions, explain IoC findings, etc.
- Evaluating specific IoC findings to ensure that they are valid within the context of the customer’s website design and code.
Helpful Candidate Attributes:
- A lot of the SCM work is done independently. We need people who go out of their way to make the team a team. “Awe man…it’s time to go home already...dangit!!”
- Must be fearless when it comes to sniffing out the shortest path to the payment page on e-commerce sites of all kinds!
- Being slightly obsessive about trying to improve over time is a thing of beauty!
- If you find yourself thinking, “I should make a note of that for the future.”, then you are our people!!
- A basic understanding of how website code works is a great plus, but not required.
- Deeper levels of understanding of related technologies are great and will be very helpful!!
Misc. Information:
- Full-time Position. Part-time may be available as well. Work schedule is flexible.
- Compensation: Based on Qualifications
- Medical and Dental Coverage (full-time positions only)
- 401K Matching, Paid Vacation Time
