About us:
The mission of the Sedalia School District Foundation is to provide financial resources to stimulate learning opportunities for students, teachers, staff, and members of the community, including but not limited to scholarships, teaching aids, and facilities. The vision of the Foundation is to provide all Sedalia School District students innovative opportunities to help them reach their full potential and become productive, valued members of the community. The Sedalia School District Foundation was incorporated in 1995 as a not-for-profit corporation for charitable and educational purposes within the meaning of section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue code.
About the Role/ Responsibilities:
The Sedalia School District Foundation requires an administrative assistant to assist with running the day-to-day operations of the organization. This applicant would be working with the executive team and board of directors including but not limited to:
· Attending monthly board meetings
· Cultivating relationships with donors
· Maintaining social media accounts
· Working with various Board committees on initiatives
· Provide content for press releases and other PR duties
· Coordinate dates for events
· Work alongside School District employees to accomplish foundation goals
Candidate Requirements
While the ultimate goal is to find the right candidate for overall fit to the organization, the following are representative of what could be expected coming into the role:
· Applicant must demonstrate a willingness or passion to carry out the foundation’s mission and vision
· Applicant must be organized
· Applicant must maintain good communication with BoD and partner relationships
· Applicant must be proficient in the following programs:
o Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Publisher)
o Filemaker 18
o Google Office
o Canva (or similar resource)
