Sedona Contracting is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Estimator to join our team. As a Construction Estimator, you will play a vital role in providing accurate and detailed estimates for construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management and estimating, with expertise in negotiating contracts and managing budgets. Experience estimating federal projects is preferred. Your expertise will help us to maintain high-quality construction projects while ensuring timely delivery and cost control.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately performs quantity takeoff.
- Assists in the pricing of project logistics, including hoisting, personnel lifts, and temporary construction elements.
- Develops abstracts and competently evaluates basic trade bids.
- Develops basic understanding of indirect costs, including insurance, tazes, and fees.
- Develops pricing for basic project elements and assists in the preparation of key estimating deliverables.
- Drafts subcontracts and purchase orders for review by senior personnel.
- Provides document control (sub lists, distribution of plans, addenda, etc.) for assigned projects.
- Solicits pricing for projects in the hard bid environment.
- Supports conceptual estimating efforts within the department including development of basic models for review by senior personnel.
- With oversight from senior personnel, develops budget uploads and purchasing plans.
- Conducts thorough site visits to gather information about construction projects, including risk, labor costs, materials, equipment, utility and topography requirements.
- Prepares detailed estimates for construction projects, including labor, materials, and equipment costs.
- Utilizes construction management software such as RSMeans and Bluebeam to create accurate and detailed estimates.
- Reviews and analyzes construction contracts to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Collaborates with construction managers and project managers to develop comprehensive project plans and budgets.
- Negotiates contracts with contractors and suppliers to ensure the best possible pricing and terms.
- Manages and controls project costs to ensure profitability and meet budget targets.
- Provides ongoing cost control and monitoring to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
-Builds and maintains relationships with other companies.

Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience is required.
- Proven experience as a Construction Estimator or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of construction estimating and construction management.
- Proficiency in construction management software such as RSMeans, Bluebeam and Excel.
- Proficient use of all Microsoft Office Suite programs.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
- Experience with project management and contract administration.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage and control project costs to ensure profitability and meet budget targets.
-Supervisory experience is required.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering is preferred but not required.
-Driver's License Required
