Project Construction Manager
Location: Waterloo / Cedar Falls, Iowa
Salary: $85,000 - $100,000 per year (Base Wage)
Employment Type: Full Time / Direct Hire
An established and growing firm is actively seeking a Project Construction Manager with experience in data center construction to join their dynamic team. In this role, you’ll oversee the full lifecycle of data center construction projects—from pre-construction planning through to completion. You’ll collaborate with utility providers, local regulators, engineering teams, and contractors to deliver high-quality, on-time, and on-budget results.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all phases of data center construction, including pre-construction, procurement, and execution.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and risk assessments.
- Manage relationships with local government agencies, zoning boards, and permitting offices.
- Oversee site development and monitor contractor performance.
- Coordinate with utility companies for infrastructure upgrades and planning.
- Manage subcontractor selection and negotiations.
- Align construction timelines with client and operational goals.
- Identify potential project risks and implement contingency plans.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation and progress reports.
- Conduct regular site visits and inspections.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, IT, or Electrical Engineering.
- 3–7 years of experience in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field.
- Strong background in electrical systems, site development, or infrastructure deployment.
- Experience working with utility companies and regulatory agencies is preferred.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and contractors simultaneously. Ability to travel to projects within Iowa.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency with project management software and tools.
