Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the well-being of clients.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in condition or behavior.
- Observe and report any significant changes in clients' health or behavior to appropriate medical personnel.
- Support individuals with developmental disabilities by implementing personalized care plans.
- Ensure a safe environment by adhering to safety protocols and maintaining cleanliness in living spaces.
- Respect and uphold resident rights while fostering independence among clients.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote cognitive function, especially for those with dementia or other memory-related conditions.
Skills
- Experience in long-term care settings, including assisted living and nursing homes.
- Knowledge of dementia care techniques and patient observation practices.
- Familiarity with medication administration protocols and resident rights regulations.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities, including developmental disabilities.
