We are seeking an experienced boiler industry sales / application engineering specialist who is motivated, well organized and goal-oriented to join our outside sales team. Our company has a 75-year history, team-based culture, and is strategically located. Our sales team strives to be the best in their market and works hard to succeed.
Duties :
1. Promote SCB as the #1 choice for comprehensive steam solutions including boiler parts and equipment sales, service, and licensed operations.
2. Meet or exceed budgeted Sales Team goals and objectives
3. Identify, develop, track (Salesforce.com) and close new business opportunities in existing territory (i.e. all of New Jersey and the surrounding counties in NY & PA)
4. Create and maintain a strong rapport with customers.
5. Provide superior customer service.
6. Recommend strategies to increase sales for existing customers and markets
7. Introduce specialty services and new product offerings to customers
8. Commit to ongoing technical training.
9. Attend industry trade shows to identify potential sales leads and make meaningful contact with existing customers
10. Follow industry trends to identify new opportunities for potential sales
11. Recommend marketing strategies to target a specific region or demographic
12. Generate reports as required
Required Skills / Abilities :
We are looking for a dynamic salesperson who presents the following qualities :
- 5-10 years industry experience (e.g. Boiler, HVAC or Mechanical Services)
- Successful track record of meeting or exceeding expectations in a technical, consultative, long term sales cycle environment
- Technically competent, self-motivated, driven and determined
- Strong communication skills
- Poised, presentable, and confident in front of customers
- Excellent problem-solving abilities
- Organized with above average time management skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to manage priorities effectively and prioritize tasks based on importance
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with customers, co-workers, and stakeholders
Qualifications :
A background in the boiler, HVAC or Mechanical services sales, service and / or operations.
Ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy and professionalism
5-10 years of experience as a Sales Engineer, Application Engineer and / or Service Technician in the boiler or similar industry preferred
Strong knowledge of boiler products, processes, services, customers, and decision-makers preferred
A valid state driver's license and safe driving record required
Strategic planning, organization, communication, presentation, and connectivity skills
Keen understanding of how to position an overall value proposition, pricing and the associated impact on gross margin, and profit.
Able to travel to customers throughout New Jersey.
Outstanding performance-based acumen, as well as proven leadership and relationship building skills
