About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Social-Emotional Learning Specialist (SELS) to join our team. In this part-time position, you will work directly with children, providing personalized, 1:1 guidance to support their social-emotional development. Using SEEDS' research-backed training methods, rooted in the Yale-developed RULER Approach, you will help children develop critical emotional skills, gain independence, and boost their confidence.
What You'll Do
- Provide individualized social-emotional guidance to children in 1:1 settings.
- Foster emotional growth and confidence in children by teaching key social-emotional skills.
- Track and monitor students’ progress, using data to adjust goals and approaches.
- Collaborate with parents/guardians, teachers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and support.
What We're Looking For
- Experience: Prior experience working with or teaching children is required. Experience with neurodiverse populations and/or in social-emotional learning or education is highly desirable.
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field is a plus, but equivalent experience will be considered.
- Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Creative skills in the arts are a bonus.
- Personality: Compassionate, adaptable, and able to work collaboratively with children, families, and educators.
- Availability: Ability to work flexible hours, including day and evening shifts.
- Location: Applicants must reside in San Francisco, CA.
Schedule & Pay
- Part-time: 20–30 hours per week.
- Pay: $32.00–$40.00/hour.
- Flexible schedule options: Monday–Friday, day or evening shifts available.
