Position – Diesel Mechanic
Job Location – Madison, WI
Starting Date – Immediate
Employment Term – Direct Hire
Employment Type – Full-Time
Work Hours (Shift) – 1st Shift (7:30am – 4:00pm)
Starting Pay – $28-$30/hr Depends on Experience

Required Education – High School Diploma/GED
Required Experience – At least 1 years of experience
Truck mechanic is mostly going to be responsible for basic maintenance like brakes, oil changes, tire changes etc. Must be a self starter, able to work on their own to accomplish goals, must be able to communicate with all levels of the organization and with vendors.
Responsibilities
• Determines vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identifying worn and damaged parts.
• Keeps equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules; installing component and part upgrades; controlling corrosion; completing winterization procedures.
• Corrects vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting or replacing parts, or systems, such as tire repair and replacement, oil changes and basic maintenance fucntions
• Verifies vehicle performance by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems.
• Maintains vehicle appearance by cleaning, washing, and painting.
• Maintains vehicle records
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED preferred but not required. Tooling, Supply Management, Mechanical Inspection Tools, Technical Understanding, Attention to Detail, Dependability, Thoroughness, Verbal Communication, Documentation Skills, Inventory Control, Job Knowledge
