Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic – Metal Recycling

Location: Anoka, MN

Job Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire

Shift: 1^st Shift, 6:45 am to 4:30 pm

Pay Rate: $25.00/DOQ

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to join our  metal recycling team. This position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment and machinery used in metal processing operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background, experience working with heavy industrial equipment, and the ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

·      Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair conveyor systems, shredders, balers, shears, forklifts, and other recycling equipment

·      Perform preventative maintenance on machinery to minimize downtime

·      Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues and implement effective solutions

·      Weld and fabricate parts as needed for equipment repairs and modifications

·      Follow all safety procedures and ensure compliance with company policies and regulations

·      Maintain accurate maintenance records and report any equipment concerns to management

·      Assist in the installation and setup of new machinery and equipment

·      Work efficiently in a team setting and communicate effectively with other departments

Qualifications & Requirements:

·      High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school training preferred

·      Minimum 2 years of experience as an industrial or maintenance mechanic, preferably in a recycling, manufacturing, or heavy equipment environment

·      Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and welding/fabrication

·      Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals

·      Comfortable working in a physically demanding environment, including lifting heavy parts and working in various weather conditions

·      Must have own basic tools (company may provide specialized tools)

·      Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime as needed

·      Forklift and heavy equipment experience a plus

·      Must pass a pre-employment drug test (if required)
