POSITION – Laser Operator II
JOB LOCATION – Chippewa Falls, WI
STARTING DATE – Immediately
EMPLOYMENT TERM – Temp-to-Hire
EMPLOYMENT TYPE – Full-Time
WORK HOURS (SHIFT) – Day Shift (6am-4:30pm, Mon-Thurs, OT may be required)
STARTING PAY – $18.00-23.00/hr DOE

EDUCATION– HS Diploma or equivalent required
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE – 1 to 3 years related experience in a metal fabrication setting preferrably as a Laser Operator; and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
The Laser Operator will be responsible for set-up to ensure proper cutting operations, detecting any defective material, and perform quality inspection checks.
Responsibilities
- Understand handling and disposal of lenses
- Comprehend reasons for cut quality
- Ability to change gas cylinders and know correct valves to close and correct pressure settings
- Understand and edit program code, knowing when and when not to edit
- Set up jobs for the most efficient results, considering material thickness/type and cutting edge used
- Understand and be able to teach the curves, brush the nozzle
- Ability to set the laser diode at the starting point of the cut
- Ability to create production plans
- Ability to save abortion point and reenter from saved abortion
- Understand and be able to grind/replace slats
- Know how to remove and replace heads (use green tape)
- Perform postproduction/recuts
- Work with the Engineering Department on NPI and/or first article parts
- Meet or exceed company PPM level standards by consistently producing quality work
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues in assigned work center
- Achieve and maintain any certifications required in the work area
- Cross-trained in multiple workstations
- Assist in preventative maintenance of the machines
Qualifications
- 1 years of experience in a metal fabrication setting
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Capability to write simple correspondence
- Proficiency in adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Skill in reading and interpreting prints and work orders
- Ability to handle fast-paced work environments
- Demonstrated dependability with good attendance
