POSITION – Maintenance Tech II

JOB LOCATION – Chippewa Falls, WI

STARTING DATE – Immediately

EMPLOYMENT TERM – Temp-to-Hire

EMPLOYMENT TYPE – Full-Time

WORK HOURS (SHIFT) – 1st Shift (6am-4:30pm, Mon-Thurs)

STARTING PAY – $23.51-$29.00/hour (Depending on Experience)

EDUCATION– HS Diploma or equivalent required, 2-year technical certification or equivalent experience preferred

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE – 1 to 3 years related experience in a metal fabrication setting; and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. CNC operator experience preferred.

 

The Machine Maintenance Technician II is responsible for performing a wide range of tasks to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production machinery, facility equipment, and physical infrastructure. This role involves following safety protocols and preventive maintenance procedures to ensure optimal performance and reliability of all systems. We are looking for an individual who is dependablemechanically minded, and has strong attention to detail to help our company thrive!

 

Responsibilities

  • Perform a wide range of tasks to maintain production machinery and plant facility equipment.
  • Develop work instructions for production and facility equipment, contributing to the establishment of a preventive maintenance system.
  • Utilize various hand tools, power tools, and electrical multimeters effectively.
  • Proficiently use computers for maintenance-related tasks and record-keeping.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems in equipment, machines, and facilities.
  • Install new production machinery and equipment as required.
  • Visually inspect and listen to machinery to identify and diagnose malfunctions.
  • Analyze issues, replace or repair faulty parts, test operations, and make necessary adjustments.
  • Detect faulty operations, defective materials, or equipment and report issues as necessary.
  • Dismantle machines and equipment to access problem areas for troubleshooting.
  • Inspect and measure parts to identify wear, misalignment, or other potential issues.
  • Provide emergency service and unscheduled repairs to production equipment during production, as well as perform scheduled maintenance during machine service periods.
  • Test machine operations by restarting equipment after repairs are made.
  • Repair or replace broken parts, motors, belts, and adjust feed mechanisms as needed.
  • Connect wiring to motors, fixtures, and electrical equipment, replacing switches, fuses, and splicing wires with proper insulation.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Patch or replace plasterboard and paint walls, ceilings, and trim as part of facility maintenance.
  • May occasionally be required to use a personal vehicle for work-related assignments.

 

 

Qualifications

  • Education/Experience: A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience may be considered in place of a formal degree.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in electronics and the use of various hand tools; solid understanding of mechanical processes; foundational knowledge of hydraulics.
  • Preferred Experience: Previous experience in a machine shop performing maintenance and mechanical repairs is highly desirable.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform arithmetic operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Reading and Interpretation Skills: Capable of reading and interpreting safety regulations, operating procedures, maintenance manuals, and repair instructions.
  • Electrical Proficiency: Demonstrated ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
