Are you an experienced Field Service Technician with a passion for mechanical systems and field service operations? Our customer, a leading mechanical components company, is hiring a talented Field Service Technician to join their team near Hoffman Estates, IL. In this role, you'll travel across the United States to inspect, repair, and install equipment. You’ll be responsible for diagnosing failures, performing repairs, and recommending corrective actions.
Key Responsibilities :
Service and maintain a variety of gear drives, couplings, and subassemblies
Disassemble units, inspect parts, and write reports on failed components
Analyze and resolve issues independently, providing clear reports (including photos) to customers
Required Experience and Skills :
Experience with gearboxes such as transmissions, heavy equipment assemblies, or wind industry applications
5 years in field service operations
Rigging experience helpful
Experience using hand tools, lathe and surface grinders
Proficiency with blueprints, ISO documentation, basic gearing, and bearings
Computer literacy, Microsoft Office experience (Outlook, Word, Excel) required
Preparation of expense reports and job / maintenance summaries
Occasional need to work in confined spaces and at heights
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Certifications and Requirements :
MSHA part 46 or 48 certification helpful
Flexibility with travel schedule required; including occasional weekends
Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
