What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Education Teacher(s) – 12 Months position at Seekonk North Elementary School?
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide leadership and manage a classroom team of paraprofessionals and therapists
Ability to work as a productive member of the instructional team to maximize student outcomes for Elementary students.
Write reports, develop IEP’s, maintain data collection employing research-based best practice strategies to demonstrate student progress and adjust student goals
Work with expert consultants to develop effective support systems for students
Develop positive relationships with families
Participation in a mentor program that focuses on PBIS approaches
Assist in creating and maintaining a PBIS environment throughout SCEC
Work as a productive member of the instructional team to maximize student outcomes
Ability to recognize the need for and to provide assistance to students in an appropriately active classroom setting
Other student-related assigned responsibilities as needed, including 1:1 assistance
