Optician/Eyewear Specialist Opportunity

Position Summary
- Greet customers and verify insurance, take appointments when needed
- Working together to anticipate patient needs and be able to effectively meet those needs with the appropriate lens and frame solutions.
- Educating each patient on the technologies and innovations available in eyeglass frames, lenses, and sun wear, and their benefits in providing the optimal visual experience and preventative care.
- Take and record measurements, adjust and fit eyewear, and execute these details with flawless accuracy.
- Help with organizing and maintaining/managing a perpetual inventory of around 400 frames, cases, and other spectacle accessories.
- Using our electronic practice management system to enter orders for eyeglass frames and lenses with accuracy and creating patient invoices for sales.
- Manually adjusting the fit of eyeglass frames to one’s face to optimize comfort and visual performance.
· Troubleshooting patients concerns with the fit and performance of their eyewear to ensure patient satisfaction.
· Scheduling appointments and answering office phones when necessary. Cross training is an important part of this position.
· Accurately analyzing and understanding patient vision benefits coverage to calculate out-of-pocket costs and discussing those costs with the patient.
· Meeting with representatives from frame manufacturers and selecting new inventory.
· Ensure proper care and maintenance of all optometric equipment.
· Maintain merchandise displays in a clean and attractive fashion. Comply with lens and price changes promptly and accurately.
· Protect all Company assets, including inventory, cash, credit card drafts, bank deposits, and equipment. Follow proper procedures when accepting checks and credit cards.

Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years or more of related work experience preferred
Education
- High School Graduate or equivalent required.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.

· $18.00-$24.00 per hour based on experience
