The Customer Solution Specialist role is a domain expert for geoscience in the civil and environment industry, with a primary focus on supporting the growth opportunities, training, and support of Seequent’s civil and environmental solutions.

This role is all about getting up ‘close and personal’ with users throughout their journey with Seequent from customer’s trialing our software and the pre-purchase stage through to ongoing engagement with experienced users needing support, training, and / or advanced assistance. We want to ensure our customers feel important and are well supported. Being hands-on, task-oriented, and customer-focused, this role is responsible for providing well-rounded technical and sales support with great product knowledge, quick response times, analysis, problem-solving, and solution-finding.

As a Customer Solution Specialist, you will be responsible for providing technical mentoring, support, and direction to your fellow team members, on the industry and Seequent products, as part of a collaborative sales team. You will be building towards advanced level expertise on the workflows facilitated by Leapfrog Works and Central for fast, accurate model building and stakeholder collaboration.

Although based in your local region, you will still be a part of the wider global Expert Services team, who are responsible for ensuring supporting our users in multiple different time zones. This role is part of growing our Civil engineering, environmental geoscience, and geotechnical solutions and an opportunity to be part of an enthusiastic and dynamic team.

Duties and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to :

  • Share your expert-level product knowledge, workflows, and integrated solutions to new and existing users in the Environmental and Civil sector.
  • Work with the sales team (Account Managers and Inside Sales) to further opportunities by providing product demonstrations, understanding the needs and current workflows of the customer, setting trial expectations, and developing specific implementation plans to maximize the rate of success.
  • Be the regional technical advocate for Seequent’s Civil and Environmental portfolio, including internal training to our staff members.
  • Use the information platforms that Seequent provides to understand the client’s portfolio, the diversity of users and their managers in their organizations.
  • Provide remote technical support and be able to work through examples with users.
  • Deliver a range of user support interactions, including face to face, web, and / or emails, and managing these to a successful resolution.
  • Proactively contact our users by web, face to face to complete a user health check and embed software upgrades.
  • Keep our clients' accounts in CRM updated (health check, software upgrades, users’ updates, training, etc., so that anyone who consults the client's information has the latest version of the facts.
  • Deliver training sessions on Leapfrog Works, and Central. The number of sessions is 1-2 per month, and most sessions are 3-4 days in length.
  • Actively monitor customer satisfaction levels and consistently work to improve outcomes and customer perceptions.
  • While not being directly involved in software development, you will be the voice of the customer in Asia Pacific.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 5 years of experience in the following areas : geotechnical investigations, geological modelling, and / or conceptual site models.
  • Experience with relevant software modelling solutions.
  • Fluent in English at a highly technical and professional level.
  • Operational experience in civil / groundwater engineering projects.
  • Experience working in a large civil consultancy or ground engineering services firm.
  • Experience using Leapfrog Works.
  • Experience in Geostudio and / or PLAXIS.
  • Experience in commercial software projects or testing.
  • Confident oral and written communication skills.
  • Customer focused, with the desire to always achieve a win-win solution.
  • Ability to work well with other team members and to provide support and assistance.
  • Innovative, open, and able to work in a fast-growing, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to develop and build sustainable working relationships.
  • Proven team player and conflict management skills.

  • Ability to travel overseas when required.

  • Additional Information

    Office-based working environment, work from our Toronto or Christchurch Office two or more days per week.
