We are seeking an experienced Controller on behalf of our client, a innovative property insurance provider specializing in homeowners coverage across the United States. This role oversees financial operations, including accounting, reporting, and compliance, working closely with senior leadership and other functions to ensure financial integrity and optimize performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage financial close processes, regulatory filings, and internal controls to meet GAAP, SSAP, and industry requirements.
- Oversee cash management and investment accounting for reserves and policyholder funds.
- Implement financial controls, mitigate risks related to investments, claims, underwriting, and reinsurance.
- Lead a finance team, collaborate across departments, and support business growth.
- Manage audits, regulatory examinations, and liaise with key stakeholders.
- Enhance financial reporting tools and stay updated on industry advancements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; CPA preferred.
- Property & Casualty insurance experience is essential.
- Minimum 10 years' experience, including minimum 5 years in leadership.
- Strong expertise in GAAP, SSAP, financial reporting, and insurance regulations.
- Proficiency in financial systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Advanced Excel, financial modelling, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
