What are the responsibilities and job description for the Floater - Part Time 12:00-5:30p.m. position at Seesaw Learning Academy?
WE ARE GROWING! We are looking for a qualified Childcare Floater. You will be responsible for caring for children ranging from ages 6 weeks to 12 years. Floaters are required to rotate around classrooms to assist teachers and give breaks when needed. He/she must have a great love and patience for children. He/she will be required to step in for a staff member who may be out for the day.
The ideal candidate will be a caring individual who enjoys teaching young children with the ability to lift up to 30 pounds. You must have a GED or H.S. Diploma and have completed the Early Childhood courses as designed by the state Child Care authority.
Responsibilities
- Provide a safe and loving environment for the children in his/her care
- Change diapers as needed
- Organize nap and snack hours and supervise children to ensure they are safe at all times
- Track children’s progress and report to parents
- Communicate with parents regularly to understand the children’s background and psyche
- Collaborate with other educators
- Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards
Skills
- Proven experience as a Preschool Teacher
- Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods
- Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
- Excellent communication and instructional skills
- Cool-tempered, friendly and reliable
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $10.00 - $12.00 per hour
