Title: Manufacturing Engineer
Reports To: Operations Manager
General Scope of Position
Sefar’s Manufacturing Engineer supports our operations in Kansas City. The position is responsible for driving both process improvement and waste reduction while ensuring a high quality product and a safe working environment. This position may require assisting other Sefar sites within the US.
Position Requirements
Minimum or equivalent of four-year degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering (BSME), Industrial Engineering or related technical education such as Bachelors of Technology (BT) is required and at least a years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of pneumatic, mechanical and electrical systems is required. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications and a Windows operating environment. Experience with machine design and ERP system in a fast pace environment is a plus.
Infrequent travel may be required.
Position Responsibilities:

Operations
- Establish and exceed departmental goals through process improvements and equipment upgrades.
- Propose improvement projects and/or new equipment based on observations and/or feedback.
- Manage improvements projects – work efficiently and report on timeliness and budgetary impact of projects.
- Lead process and workflow improvements.
- Lead the design, repair and/or upgrading of new and existing equipment.
- Responsible for creating/updating instructions of machinery and production processes.
- Assist with the analysis, trouble shoot, and fix of equipment.
- Keep informed on new technologies and equipment and apply them where appropriate.
Quality Control
- Drive improvements that help the operations group improve product quality, lowering in process scrap and limiting external customer complaints.
- Assist in the maintenance of the ISO Management System as required. This may include creating work instructions, training, assisting in identifying and implementing corrective actions, etc.
Safety
- Ensure that all current and new fabrication equipment and processes meet OSHA standards.
- Responsible for identifying, reporting and correcting hazardous conditions and unsafe work procedures that may cause injury to employees or damage to property.
Salary : $50,000 - $75,000
