Segers Aero Corporation located in Fairhope, AL is seeking an Engine Mechanic to work 2nd shift (four 10-hour days, Monday - Thursday from 2pm until 12pm with paid lunch). We offer a competitive benefits package, apply today to join our team!

Purpose of Position : To perform maintenance on aircraft engines, accessories, and components.
Essential Functions : (must be able to perform these functions, with or without a reasonable accommodation).
- Performs maintenance duties on aircraft engines, accessories, and components in accordance with SAC Repair Station Manual, SAC Quality Manual, Customer SOP’s, and applicable technical data.
- Using AeroTrac ERP system and company internal paperwork, accurately document the completion of maintenance performed.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment
- Safe operation of the overhead crane
- Complete and maintain Forklift Certification in accordance with company standards
- Correct and safe use of specialty tools, torches, and chemicals as directed
- Perform FOD (Foreign Object Debris) inspections, and toolbox inspections daily
- Works to production schedule as directed by manager / lead
- Communicates with manager / lead to recommend changes, such as equipment utilization, production methods and procedures to increase the efficiency of the department and promote improvement
- Works when scheduled and complies with company attendance policy
- Observe and practice all safety procedures and personal policies
- Attends all safety and health training, as required, in a timely manner
- Maintains a clean workstation free from Foreign Object and / or Debris (FOD), ensures tooling is properly stored
- Maintains a clean / safe workspace free from spills or obstructions which may lead to harm
- Travels as required
- Confers with manager / lead to recommend changes such as : equipment utilization, production methods and procedures to increase the efficiency of the department and promote improvement
- Attends all safety and health training, as required, in a timely manner
- Works when scheduled and complies with company attendance policy
- Works overtime as needed
- Observes and practices all safety procedures and personal policies (e.g. safety glasses, ear plugs, face shields etc.)
- Other duties as required

Must provide and maintain personal toolbox in accordance with Segers’ Tool Control PlanMust be able to use large specialty tools such as torque wrenches, impact wrenches, hydraulic press and bearing pullers.Must be able to obtain needed information and data from FAR’s, bulletins, and maintenance manuals to perform assigned maintenance functions.Must be proficient in using a variety of hand tools, special tools, and GSE required to perform assigned maintenance tasks.Must be able to maintain an effective working relationship with, and among co-workers and supervisorsMust be able to work with little or no supervision and to take initiativeMust be able to use applied knowledge to formulate positive solutions to problem situationsMust be able to apply common senseMust be able to effectively read, write and communicate in EnglishMust be proficient in company-specific software and Microsoft Office Word and ExcelMust be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide, using fractions and decimals; compute percentages, ratios, rates and interpret graphs.Must be able to comply with OSHA requirements and standards to properly wear all applicable PPEMust have knowledge of precision measuring tools / equipment (dimensional and electrical)Must be able to see within normal range of vision with or without corrective lensesMust be able to hear running machineryMust be able to use hands, wrists, and fingers repetitivelyMust have exceptional eye-hand coordinationMust be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly and more, with assistance occasionallyMust regularly be able to reach overheadMust regularly be able to squat, stoop, kneel, bend, twist and standMust be able to walk around regularly using steps occasionallyAbility to provide verifications of US citizenship or permanent residency to satisfy ITAR / EAR restrictionsExperience and Education Requirements :
Must be at least 18 years or older and a High School Diploma or GED is required.2 years of professional aviation, mechanical, industrial, or maintenance experience or completion of aviation school is required.Experience in performing maintenance on components in an MRO environment is preferred.A&P license or FAA Power Plant Rating is preferred. In lieu of holding an A&P or P license, must be able to obtain a Repairman Certificate by satisfying the requirements as called out in the FAR.Forklift certification is preferred.Position is considered safety-sensitive in accordance with DOT and FAA regulations. Subject to drug and alcohol testing per DOT FAA’s regulations.Must pass a criminal background check, DOT-FAA pre-employment drug screen, and comply with all applicable FAA regulations.Must strive to continuously develop skills and pursue training opportunities.Work Conditions :
Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration. Noise is generally loud.
