As they transition their accounting function in-house, they are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead financial operations, ensure compliance, and support business growth.
Position Overview
The Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations, managing financial reporting, and ensuring accuracy in financial records. This role requires strong technical accounting skills, a deep understanding of the entertainment industry’s financial landscape, and the ability to collaborate with multiple business divisions.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial statements.
- Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and industry-specific accounting standards.
- Work closely with external auditors and tax advisors to facilitate audits and tax filings.
Operational Finance & Business Support
- Implement and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash flow processes.
- Oversee royalty accounting, revenue recognition, and expense allocations for artist management, publishing, and content creation operations.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Build and manage an in-house accounting team, transitioning work from the CPA firm.
- Collaborate with department heads to ensure accurate financial tracking of projects, contracts, and revenue streams.
- Provide financial insights and reporting to senior leadership.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
- 5 years of accounting experience, preferably within the entertainment, media, or music industries.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Experience with royalty accounting, revenue recognition, and contract analysis.
- Proficiency in accounting software QuickBooks and Excel.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, creative environment.
Salary : $80,000 - $110,000
