Segrera Associates is actively recruiting for an Assistant Corporate Controller with a large manufacturing company headquartered in Sarasota, FL. The Assistant Corporate Controller is a high visibility position within the company and will report directly to the VP Controller. This is a great opportunity for someone with a CPA, public company or large public accounting experience who has a versatile background and skillset and business acumen. You will be overseeing global accounting, FP&A, financial reporting (SEC), and other operational areas.
This role is hybrid in Sarasota paying $125-150k depending on experience plus very generous and lucrative incentive plans.
The Assistant Corporate Controller job duties and responsibilities include:
- Assume overall leadership for accounting procedures and all financial reporting. Determine and recommend internal accounting and reporting procedures and policies.
- Lead the accounting team in ensuring consistent implementation of corporate accounting principles and procedures in full compliance with US GAAP.
- Ensure the adequacy of policies, procedures and controls for the company, creating policies and procedures where necessary.
- Serve as principal interface with the external auditors as well as risk management
- Oversee and develop future financial leaders through training and mentoring of individuals
- Drive process improvements, automate financial systems, and enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the finance function.
- Consult on accounting impact of proposed M&A transactions and advise operating executives on alternative deal structures. Lead the financial integration of acquired companies.
- Help deliver frequent presentations to the Board of Directors on topics of special interest, as well as reviews of quarterly and annual financial statements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA required- MUST HAVE
- Big 4/large public accounting experience and/or publicly traded company experience required
- Extensive experience in Senior leadership preferably at the global level
- Expertise in SEC reporting and technical accounting
- Strong understanding of financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally
