Job description
Segrera Associates is partnering with a media organization that is looking to hire a Divisional Controller due to the organization continued growth. The Division Controller is responsible for managing and overseeing the financial operations of a specific division within the organization. This role involves financial transactions, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, review and analysis to ensure that the division operates efficiently, within budget, and in compliance with financial regulations. The Division Controller will work closely with senior leadership and other departments to provide financial insights and drive strategic decisions.
Core Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operational Accounting Prepare, review and/or approve accounting transactions in the Company’s Financial Accounting System(s)
- Financial Review and Reporting: Prepare and oversee the division’s monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring they are accurate and in compliance with accounting standards.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the budgeting and forecasting process for the division, working with department heads to develop accurate and achievable financial goals.
- Financial Analysis: Analyze financial performance, identifying trends, variances, and areas for improvement. Provide commentary on results for consolidated financials..
- Internal Controls: Review accounting transactions, reports and reconciliations to ensure compliance with company policies and applicable accounting standards.
- Cost Management: Monitor and analyze the division’s cost structure, ensuring efficient resource allocation and identifying opportunities to reduce costs and improve profitability.
- Collaboration with Other Departments: Work closely with other divisions, operations, and finance teams to ensure alignment on financial objectives and to support operational initiatives.
- Audit Support: Coordinate with internal and external auditors, ensuring timely and efficient completion of audits.
- Compliance: Ensure that the division adheres to all financial regulations, including tax and accounting standards, and manage the preparation of necessary documentation for regulatory purposes.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or equivalent professional certification preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, and budgeting.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office products (experience with NetSuite is a plus).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior management and cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and timeliness.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Salary : $160,000 - $180,000
