What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accountant position at Segrera Associates?
We are working with a client in the Medley area looking for a Senior Accountant to join their team. This role is 100% onsite and requires a Bachelors degree in Accounting.
Senior Accountant Responsibilities:
- Assist Accounting Manager in the month-end financial closing process and maintenance of general ledger accounts, including reconciliations and variance analysis
- Prepare and record journal entries as part of the month-end closing process.
- Prepare and process quarterly federal and state payroll tax returns, sales tax returns and annual business license tax reports.
- Assist Accounting Manager with accurate vendor management and control, following internal control processes and procedures; ensure timely entry of invoices and payables to facilitate seamless month-end closing process.
- Assist, as needed, with collections of past due premiums, fees, and other sources of revenue.
- Reconcile bank and investment accounts.
- Ensure tax compliance by preparing applicable periodic tax reports as well as statutory and regulatory reports in a supporting or leading role, as determined by management.
- Ensure strict compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Provide support to annual external audit in the form of creation and submission of requested financial and operating information.
- Provide support, as needed, to the Accounting Manager in preparing financial statements and reports.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Senior Accountant :Qualifications and Requirements:
- Degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- 3 years of accounting experience, including month-end closing.
- Fully Bilingual (English and Spanish) a plus
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles related to accounts receivable, accounts payable, Financial Statements and general ledger.
- Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Strong attention to detail
- Must be extremely accurate and detail oriented
Salary : $70,000 - $82,000
