The Capacity Planner is responsible for managing and optimizing the manufacturing capacity within an aerospace manufacturing facility. This role involves creating, updating, and controlling production schedules, ensuring the timely availability of materials, and coordinating parts schedules to meet production deadlines. The Capacity Planner works closely with production, procurement, and supply chain teams to ensure efficient workflow and support the overall production goals of the facility.
Responsabilities:
- Develop and maintain production schedules based on customer demand, production capacity, and material availability.
- Coordinate with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to ensure schedules align with available resources and production capabilities.
- Ensure that capacity requirements are met by analyzing workload data and adjusting schedules as needed to avoid bottlenecks or delays in production.
- Coordinate parts scheduling to ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials for production.
- Work with procurement and inventory teams to ensure that materials and parts are available when needed, minimizing downtime.
- Analyze production capacity and compare it against forecasted demand to ensure the facility is prepared for fluctuations in production volume.
- Maintain and update production scheduling systems, ensuring that data is accurate and up-to-date.
- Generate regular capacity planning reports for senior management, highlighting any risks, delays, or opportunities for process improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Certifications in APICS CPIM, Six Sigma, or Lean Manufacturing are a plus.
- At least 2 years of experience in production planning
- Strong experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and production scheduling software.
- Familiarity with aerospace manufacturing processes, including part ordering and inventory management, is preferred.
