What are the responsibilities and job description for the Battery Prototyping Testing and Validation Engineer position at Segula Technologies?
Manage shipping of completed packs per Customer requirements to test facilities.
Coordinate validation testing per the Design Validation Plan and Report (DVP&R) Stellantis test specifications best practices and field issues as agreed and approved by the Battery Pack Chief Engineer.
Ensure that all required test specifications procedures battery packs nonpack hardware (connectors seals plugs etc) are provided on schedule to meet test start and completion target dates.
Prior to test start review and approve test chamber setups fixtures procedures etc. at test facilities including CTC ARDC in Windsor Ontario and supplier test facilities in Southeast Michigan and elsewhere.
Track test progress to plan and report out in program meetings as needed.
Participate in troubleshooting and issue resolution during testing
Maintain test records of each validation test.
Obtain and sign off final test reports for each test completed and file in program drive along with completed DVP&R.
Manage disposition of posttest properties.
Lead the Maintenance Development and Improvement of Test Procedures Design Validation Plans (DV) and Process Validation plans (PV) for Electric Vehicle (EV) Battery product development activities.
Provide technical support as a Resident Engineer at various Testing Suppliers.
Provide technical expertise in investigation of validation issues root cause analysis mitigation and corrective action plans.
Strong proactive and reactive engineering problem solving skills (including DFSS 8D 5 Why Fault Tree Analysis etc.
Able to use CANalyzer and other tools to integrate battery control module.
Lead root cause analysis to identify failure modes and make recommendations for corrective actions.
Conduct tests recreate failure modes identified during validation testing or warranty claims.
Travels
Supplier Validation Centers in Southwest Michigan (Warren & Auburn Hills) as needed to review and support build issues.
ARDC Windsor Ontario (occasional support visits only)
Other USA test labs as determined in the future.
Qualifications :
Understanding of automotive battery designs.
Knowledge of electronic bill of material systems and CAD systems preferably TeamCenter.
Knowledge of fasteners and torque.
Able to manage multiple projects concurrently.
Understanding of battery electronics.
