Mechanical Engineer

The person in this role will be responsible for completing the mechanical portion of large capital projects in support of the Plant Capital execution as well as overall preparation and coordination of the Engineering deliverables for the project. They will assist management with prestudies of deployment and development projects in the Mechanical engineering field They will also execute design studies follow procurement and fabrication of equipment and manage the installation commissioning and startup of the equipment in an industrial plant environment. They will support the plant through resolution of project nonconformities and machine modification requests. They may also be involved in supporting the plant major breakdowns.

The projects assigned will primarily focus in our curing process areas in the plant but could also contribute to projects in Prep tire building curing and after cure process areas.

Key Job Responsibilities :

Respect mechanical design standards in all equipment designs.

Obtain quotes for Bill of Materials

Support the plant by resolving nonconformities on major project installations

Provide Management of mechanical contractor or maintenance installation teams during equipment modifications & machine installations through Startup and Commissioning.

Interface with Plant production & maintenance customers other engineers and suppliers to complete equipment acceptance criteria.

Create Budgetary Estimates and Bid Packages on assigned projects.

Create project documentation : mechanical designs technical offer safety risk assessment maintenance & operator training documents and user manuals.

Provide Mechanical Engineering design for assigned projects including solid models mechanical detail drawings layout drawings component specification and bill of materials.

Project Management skills / Preferred :

Overall coordination of engineering deliverables for a project from all engineering contributors on the project team to include the following :

1. Engineering estimates including equipment installation labor design and startup engineering travel and managing project actual cost evolution.

2. Project schedule including design engineering procurement installation startup qualification.

3. Equipment procurement including specifications for RFQ process purchase order tracking supplier progress and managing equipment acceptance at the supplier.

4. Contributing to equipment safety & ergonomic risk assessment evaluation with the receiving plant

5. Organizing onsite equipment reception installation startup ramp up including managing customer acceptance criteria with the receiving plant.

6. Well organized and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Demonstrated solid teamwork communication and planning skills required. Previous project management experience or team leadership experience is preferred.

7. Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and resolve issues. Both written and verbal communication skills are essential.

Qualifications :

• Specific mechanical engineering skills required
• Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent technical experience
• Preferred 46 years of Engineering Experience
• Experienced with mechanical design standards and able to complete mechanical systems designs using standard 3DCAD design tools SolidWorks preferred AutoCAD is also a plus.
• Lower Priority Experience with Dossier document management systems required Teamcenter is preferred.
• High Priority Managing correction of equipment nonconformities and acceptance.
• Preferred Robotic experience configuration or knowledge is preferred but not required. Specific experience with Fanuc Yaskawa ABB is a plus.
