We are currently searching for a talented and experienced Construction Representative to join and grow with our Airport Planning and Design team in Southern Texas!

This Opportunity:

• Observing construction on a variety of Airport infrastructure projects, including runway, taxiway, apron, lighting, landside improvements, and building construction to verify compliance with approved plans and specifications.
• Verifying quality and documenting the day-to-day field and inspection activities, material sampling and testing, and measuring of quantities.
• Prepare for and assist with preconstruction and progress meetings, and conflict resolution meetings, negotiate and prepare construction change orders.
• Interact and communicate with clients, contractors, airport users, agencies, and other SEH personnel.
• Candidates with AutoCAD or Microstation experience/skillset may be tasked with CAD production and drafting.
• May assist in development of proposals, estimating project budgets and schedules and completing constructability reviews
• Complete cost estimation and quantity takeoffs.
  
  

Essential Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Strong experience in the construction field serving as a Construction Project Representative, contractor, or related role.
• Must have good internal and external communication skills and be able to work independently.
• Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and be able to walk and climb over rough terrain associated with construction sites.
• Ability to travel as needed for team meetings, client consultations, on-site observations, etc.
• Ability to travel overnight and for extended periods to support long duration projects
• Ability to work overtime as needed for project demands.
• A construction safety mindset, promoting safety on the job-site.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.).
• This position requires an MVR records check verifying that you possess a valid driver’s license and a driving record which meets the requirements of SEH’s Driving Program.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• A minimum of six (6) or more years of experience as a Construction Project Representative or Contractor on construction projects involving earthwork, concrete and bituminous paving, site improvements, utility and electrical construction.
• Associate Degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, or related field.
• Possession of applicable DOT Technical Certifications or ability to obtain within six (6) months of employment
• Previous experience working on airport projects
• Previous experience and working knowledge of AutoCAD or MicroStation
