Job Duties
- Safely operates equipment such as mowers and other various course maintenance equipment.
- Cleans machinery after each use.
- Inspects machinery after each use.
- Reports machinery and equipment problems to Mechanic or supervisor
- Loads and unloads dirt, sand and other materials
- Trims trees and removes cuttings
- Prepares and lays sod.
- Cleans lakes, drains and culverts
- Cleans any equipment used.
- Operates powered and un-powered walk-behind equipment.
- Helps with drainage projects.
- Waters plants and turf.
- Uses powered or un-powered equipment to trim grass, weeds and bushes.
- Rakes, blows and vacuums leaves.
- Empties garbage cans.
- Attends daily staff meetings.
- Works weekends, Holidays and overtime, as required, to maintain the course and grounds in proper order.
- Performs any other appropriate tasks assigned by the golf course superintendent, assistants, landscape manager or foreman.

- Have a good understanding of the game of golf and its rules.
- Understand that we are charged to provide the highest quality golfing experience in the state.
- Primary responsibility is the care and well-being of the Club owned/leased equipment and those working under his supervision.
- Daily focus is on safety and producing the best quality of cut possible.
- Works weekends, holidays and special events as deemed necessary by the GCS and in accordance with the Club’s schedule.
- Maintains a safe environment for all golf maintenance and landscape personnel.
- Maintain and recommend areas of improvement in and around the Grounds Maintenance Facility.
- Responsible for training operators on proper cleaning and care of equipment.
- Carry out tasks and projects assigned by the Superintendent.
- The Equipment Manager must possess: a) an exceptional knowledge of reel care and maintenance, b) a thorough knowledge of hydraulic systems repair and maintenance, c) well versed in engine care and maintenance (both gasoline and diesel), d) a familiarity with computer software such as MS Word & Excel, e)his own tools and a locking tool box for their storage, f) the ability to work well and communicate properly with others, g) the ability to lift heavy pieces of equipment (such as reels) that could weigh more than 60 lbs., unassisted f) the ability to plan and forecast purchasing within a specified budget
