What are the responsibilities and job description for the Junior Portfolio Manager position at SEI?
SEI is looking to add a Junior Portfolio Manager to support the senior investment staff on our institutional fixed income product suite. Ideal candidate will have 2 years of buy side fixed income experience, a demonstrated passion for portfolio management and must be prepared to play a supporting role
What you will do:
Portfolio Management knowledge Development
- Gain deep understanding across a wide scope of fixed income markets and instruments
- Work with Portfolio Managers on security selection and trading with cash and rebalancing requests
- Analyze global macro themes that contribute to portfolio management decisions across relevant asset classes/factors
- Aid in the development of innovative approaches, tools and techniques for modeling and analyzing markets and instruments
- Track and monitor key asset market performance
- Assist Portfolio Managers with position/risk management
- Analyze characteristics and structure of fixed income portfolios
- Assist in determining ongoing fixed income strategy
- Participate in credit analyses of corporate and government issuers
Desk Support
- Work with the Portfolio Managers to ensure all trade confirmation/affirmation are communicated to dealer community and resolve failing trades through our reconciliation report.
- Be the primary liaison between Portfolio Managers and custodian/back office partners
- Own the relationship with the communication site for accounts characteristics and AUM flow
- Run and provide reports on portfolio characteristics, performance and attribution on a regular and as needed basis
What we need from you:
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in asset management preferably fixed income.
- Bachelor's degree in a related subject area. CFA or MBA preferred or working towards
- Strong quantitative, analytical, and communication skills.
- Strong Excel skills are a must. Some programming experience - VBA, R, Python would be useful.
- Passion for markets and an eagerness to pursue a career in portfolio management
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines
