What are the responsibilities and job description for the Equipment Assembler position at Seibu Giken America, Inc.?
General Job Duties.
Responsible for various material processing and assembly operations involved in manufacturing HVAC equipment. Examines parts for defects. Align, fit and assemble parts into completed units based on drawings and standard operating procedures.
Primary or Major Responsibilities:
- Read drawings/specifications and follow procedures to determine methods and sequence of assembly operations
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, fixtures and templates
- Follow quality system procedures as required
- Prepare and assemble sheet metal parts, motors, fasteners and other components with minimal supervision
- Set up, run and trouble-shoot machinery used for corrugating and laminating in a safe and efficient manner
- Assist with maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment as needed
- Operate and perform preventative checks on forklifts and other equipment used to load, unload and transport materials and equipment
- Perform clean-up operations in all areas of the facility
- Perform/complete work assignments in accordance with production requirements
- Complete all shop floor data paperwork thoroughly for the operation assigned
- Communicate necessary information to relief employee. Include information regarding equipment issues, material issues, safety-related concerns, tools and PPE requirements
- Evaluate work area and equipment at beginning and end of shift to insure safety is maintained
- Participate and adhere to all safety policies and procedures while performing any given job function
- Work safely & efficiently and maintain a clean and orderly work area/condition
- Communicate to Supervisor or Manager any safety, quality or equipment related concerns
- Display a willingness to cross train in other operations to flexibly adapt to changing mix of equipment orders
Safety:
Ensure that all assignments are performed in compliance with applicable Federal, State, Provincial and Company safety and health regulations, and where applicable, utilize proper personal protective equipment.
Requirements:
- Basic math and English skills required
- Detail Oriented
- Ability to work independently but function in a team based environment
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Operate a forklift (previously certified preferred)
- Standing and walking continuously between breaks for up to 10 hours per workday
- Basic hand ans power tool skills. Accuracy in tasks. Able to accept instruction from supervisors as a team player
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- High School Diploma, GED or Trade School
- Good eyesight, with or without glasses
- Ability to discriminate colors on wires
- Manual dexterity
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Regular and punctual attendance
- Proof of US citizenship, nationality, and/or permanent resident status
