Location: Grand Rapids, MI (Hybrid Schedule)
Pay: $18.00/hour | Up to 29 hours/week

At the Seidman College of Business, we believe success is rooted in collaboration, perspective, and connection. Our internationally recognized mentorship program helps business students build learning agility, expand their networks, and develop personally and professionally.
Freshman mentees are paired with upper-level students to navigate college life and career preparation. Peer mentors are in turn supported by business professionals. With minimal time commitment and meaningful impact, the program creates a ripple effect of learning and leadership across generations of GVSU Lakers.
This temporary part-time adjunct position offers flexible, hybrid work with optional in-person hours on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. You will serve as a vital operational partner, supporting mentorship activities, communications, and strategic planning in collaboration with the Director of Mentorship.
Administrative & Program Management
- Manage daily operations, email communications, and calendar planning
- Oversee Qualtrics and Google intake forms for impact data (GPA, retention, satisfaction)
- Coordinate recruitment, social media, Blackboard outreach, and event planning
- Support strategic planning and future development, including grant research
Graduate Assistant Oversight
- Lead weekly GA check-ins
- Delegate and monitor tasks, offering training and guidance
Social Media & Promotion
- Create engaging visuals and content (events, podcast, tips, updates)
- Schedule platform-appropriate posts using Buffer, LinkTree, Canva
- Innovate new strategies for digital promotion and community engagement
Event & Catering Coordination
- Organize all logistics: RSVP forms, outreach, materials, check-in tools
- Manage catering orders, communications, and receipts
Mentorship Pairing & Engagement
- Match mentees with upperclassmen and business professionals
- Maintain records, resolve errors, and re-pair as needed
- Support participant engagement and communication
Preferred Experience:
- Knowledge of GVSU systems or higher education
- Passion for mentorship, student development, and event coordination
- Proficiency in Qualtrics, Blackboard, and Google Suite
- Familiarity with Seidman College of Business culture
- Degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, or related field
- Background in business or professional mentorship
