About us and the job:
Seigman, Sinkfield & Libersky is looking for a Personal Injury Paralegal and/or Legal Assistant. We are a small law firm, and each attorney has a designated area of law. We are looking for a paralegal and/or legal assistant who will work closely with the Personal Injury attorney, managing and maintaining flow of the case files for that department.
Job responsibility:
The legal assistant will be responsible for maintaining approximately 50-70 personal injury cases. Management of case files will include: communication with clients, medical providers, and adjusters whether by phone or correspondence; set up insurance claims; gather, organize, and review supporting documents; and prepare and draft settlement demand.
Education, skills, and work experience requirement:
Minimum high school education or equivalent.
Law office work experience, preferably in personal injury. Experience in other areas of law may be considered, as well as health-related administration job experience.
Must have integrity for the handling of confidential information.
Must be thorough, have good time management habits, and critical-thinking ability.
Must have proficient computer and office machine skills, and the ability to learn and use legal software systems for data entry.
Must have good phone manners and willingness to answer the phone.
Must be able to work independent of supervision, as well as follow attorney instruction.
Must have interpersonal skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
